Mt Charles / Poatiri and Mt Cargill from below Pulpit Rock
Mt Charles / Poatiri (left background) is the highest point on the Otago Peninsula, and is visible over the hills to the east of Mt Cargill & Buttars Peak.
The western side of the Silver Peaks neighbours the Mt Allan forest, a track leads down the prominent ridge between the Painted Forest and Big Stream - this photo is on that ridge
The official carpark for the Jubilee Hut route is at the dip in the road, recent forest felling has revealed the view of the Silver Peaks to what it was like in the 1980s
