Sylvia Creek leads to the remains of the United Goldfields Battery and the All Nations Battery. Higher up, a mine known as 'Skytown' operated. Vanguard Peak is at the head of this valley.
Located in Sylvia (Bush) Creek, the remains of the United Goldfields Battery are the first you come across (there is not much left of the original pack track in this valley - it is easy enough travel, just cross the creek as required)

The entire Macetown and surrounding valleys hide many remains from the goldmining days - this is probably one of the pulley wheels from an aerial cableway in Sylvia Creek - these supplied ore from high up in the valley to the stamping battery's for crushing / gold extraction

This is the third Homeward Bound Battery that operated in this area (the ore was extracted from an unnamed side creek immediately upstream from the battery).
